When you’ve been struggling for a while and haven’t been able to turn your life around, deciding to see a therapist takes courage. It takes getting to the point where you’re fed up with suffering. It takes a readiness and commitment to do whatever it takes to have a more fulfilling life. The answers to your problems are inside of you. My role in therapy is to empower you to fully realize that you’re the expert in your life. You will determine the direction and your goals for therapy.
If you’re discouraged and doubt your ability to make changes in your life, I will encourage and support you until you have a sense that “I CAN do this”. I act as a guide as you work towards overcoming pain and the obstacles that are preventing you from having the life you want. I will support you in healing, getting clear on what you want, and provide you with the skills and tools to achieve the goals you set for yourself.
Many of my clients have had difficult or traumatic life experiences that are at the root of their problems. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or ongoing relationship troubles, these issues are often related to a traumatic background.
Because of this, much of my work focuses on healing trauma that is stuck in the nervous system. Once the trauma is released, there is greater freedom to move forward in your life.
My approach is eclectic. I pull from a variety of therapy modalities depending on what works best for you. You and your problems are unique and therefore require a customized approach. I adapt my style and methods according to what works best for you.
